Promoting sustainable living within the local community

Lots of enthusiastic visitors

Seedy Sunday attracted more than 150 visitors this year,  many of whom came along for the first time.  Lots of seeds and plants went off to new homes, and the event was supported by many different Green Network partners, demonstrating that sustainability is high on Downton's agenda.  Thanks to all who came and supported - we're all feeling very encouraged!  Photos here.

Sadly, our mini-recycling shed is no longer fit for purpose, and we have had to close it for the time being.

In good news, you can now recycle so much locally, that it may not be missed...........

Seedy Sunday 2024

Downton Green Network aims to promote sustainable living, particularly within the local community. Our activities focus on encouraging more responsible use of the earth's resources, conserving them for future generations.  Working together we can refuse, reduce, repair, reuse, recycle, refill... and help take care of our environment.

Our web-site has links to local sustainable organisations and initiatives (let us know if we have missed anything) as well as links to national organisations.  We have also put together some tips about living sustainably including  a section on gardening.  We hope you find it useful.
