Promoting sustainable living within the local community

Heatwave......

Downton Green Network aims to promote sustainable living, particularly within the local community. Our activities focus on encouraging more responsible use of the earth's resources, conserving them for future generations.  Working together we can refuse, reduce, repair, reuse, recycle, refill... and help take care of our environment.

Our web-site has links to local sustainable organisations and initiatives (let us know if we have missed anything) as well as links to national organisations.  We have also put together some tips about living sustainably including  a section on gardening.  We hope you find it useful.

Supporting local groups who share our aims.

This grass may not look great now but it can be almost guaranteed that within 2 months it will be lush and green again.  Use water wisely and save time by not bothering to water lawns.  However, if you have any water to spare, don't forget that the birds will be searching for something to drink in this heat (aren't we all?) and a saucer of water each morning may help them.
