Promoting sustainable living within the local community

Save the date!

It's happening again this year on March 24 at the Memorial Hall.  So, save any spare seeds and plants to come and swap.  Or come and see what you can pick up that was surplus to someone else's requirements - swapping is not essential!  Although we've billed it as 'Seedy Sunday' there will be plenty more attractions in our own 'Sustainable Downton' event.  More information

Sadly, our mini-recycling shed is no longer fit for purpose, and we have had to close it for the time being.

In good news, you can now recycle so much locally, that it may not be missed...........

Seedy Sunday 2024

Downton Green Network aims to promote sustainable living, particularly within the local community. Our activities focus on encouraging more responsible use of the earth's resources, conserving them for future generations.  Working together we can refuse, reduce, repair, reuse, recycle, refill... and help take care of our environment.

Our web-site has links to local sustainable organisations and initiatives (let us know if we have missed anything) as well as links to national organisations.  We have also put together some tips about living sustainably including  a section on gardening.  We hope you find it useful.
